SimPlan AG SimPlan AG (www.simplan.de) is a company focused on process improvement technologies for manufacturing, logistics, and transportation companies. SimPlan offers simulation studies, simulation software, applications for manufacturing systems control as part of MES systems as well as support, maintenance, training, and consultancy services. Major sectors served are automotive, chemical, intralogistics, transportation and machinery. Since its foundation in 1992 SimPlan has conducted more than 900 projects in industry, with about half of these projects including research content. SimPlan is continuously developing software applications in the field of simulation and manufacturing and transportation control and has experience in participating in research projects on European, national, and regional level. SimPlan owns a broad knowledge in the field of discrete-event simulation, virtual commissioning (emulation), and in various optimization approaches. Who We Are About 50 employees (engineers, computers scientists, mathematicians) are working in seven offices in Germany. Additional 50 employees are located in affiliated companies in Austria, China, and Germany. With an annual turnover of about 11 M€, SimPlan is a typical SME.
Who We Are
Role in the project According to its experiences and strength, SimPlan will mainly focus on the simulation component (WP3, T3.2). SimPlan will lead Task 3.2 Simulation Tools Development and Testing and simulation activities in Task 5.1 and 5.2 (pilot preparation and execution). SimPlan will develop a simulation environment to assess different logistics resource sharing scenarios in context of Urban transportation. This simulation environment is going to be part of the collaboration platform and it will enable data driven ad-hoc analysis of various network and transportation configurations. The development will be based on the existing SimChain.net library.
