Pilot 1: Increasing transport efficiency in Athens
As more and more new convenient ways of buying food and drink products are developed, an increase in movement of vehicles in the city environment is inevitable. While companies have been engaged in collaborative logistics project there needs to be a step change in the level of collaboration in order to continue to deliver food and drink to consumers within the confines of anticipated increasing legislation related to urban freight movement.
The focus of this pilot is to identify opportunities for synergies and assess the impact of collaborative logistics for food manufacturers distributing their goods in urban areas, with the objective of eliminating unnecessary vehicle movement.
