Who We Are |
ELTRUN (www.eltrun.aueb.gr) is the E-Business Research Centre of the Athens University of Economics and Business. It was founded in 1992 with the objective to establish a European centre of excellence in research and development in E-Business. ELTRUN currently consists of more than 20 researchers, including 5 members of the academic staff of Athens University of Economics and Business, while there is close cooperation with academic staff of other Institutions. Through the years, ELTRUN has successfully managed to produce state-of-the-art research and to complete more than 50 international research projects some of them funded by the Information Society and Technologies Program of the European Commission. The Centre is also actively involved in national research programs, in various activities that are intended to increase awareness in the fields of E-Business. ELTRUN is organized in five research groups: SCORE (Supply Chain and Demand Management, Collaboration and Electronic Services), IMES (Interactive Marketing & Electronic Services), ADOPT (Algorithms and Discrete Optimisation), EBISE (E-Business Innovation, Strategy and Entrepreneurship), and IML (Intelligent Media Lab).
More specifically, the ELTRUN-SCORE research group focuses on issues related to supply and demand chain collaboration and environmental sustainability of supply chain. The ELTRUN-ADOPT research group focuses on combinatorial optimisation on matching/allocation problems under preferences and multi-sided assignment problems. Both groups have been involved in several research activities and project. |
Role in the project |
AUEB will lead the User Requirement Analysis (Task 1.2) utilising its long experience on conducting user requirements in various system development projects. Moreover, it will lead WP2 and more specifically Task 2.2 Smart Matching Modelling and Algorithm Design. It will bring its long experience on stable matching/ allocation problems based on combinatorial algorithms, discrete optimisation, and linear/ integer programming techniques. Besides, it will lead the development of new business models and managerial assessment (Task 5.4), capitalising on its previous experience and activities related to the assessment and evaluation of e-business innovations and the entrepreneurship and business development activities.
